The Store Corporation Berhad is a leading operator of supermarkets, departmental stores and hypermarkets in the country. Not only is The Store Corporation Berhad recognised as the largest supermarket and departmental chain by The Malaysia Book of Records (since 2001), it is also the oldest existing supermarket cum departmental chain in Malaysia. In 2008, The Store Corporation Berhad is celebrating its 40th anniversary since its first outlet at Jalan Besar in Bukit Mertajam opened on 28 November 1968.

The Store Corporation Berhad has been listed on Bursa Malaysia since 3 March 1994. The Store Corporation Berhad is the only Malaysian retailer with outlets established in every state of the Peninsular Malaysia, with 53 supermarkets & departmental stores operating in the name of 'The Store' under the legal entity The Store (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. The Store Group also operates hypermarkets through its wholly-owned subsidiary Pacific Hypermarket & Departmental Store Sdn. Bhd. At present, the Pacific group has 5 outlets at Star Parade and Alor Star Mall (both in Alor Star, Kedah), Megamal Pinang in Seberang Perai Tengah, Pulau Pinang, KB Mall in Kota Bharu, Kelantan and the newest outlet at Batu Pahat Mall in Johor Bharu, Johore.
Milimewa Superstore Sdn. Bhd., which operates 17 supermarkets and departmental stores in Sabah, has been under The Store Corporation Berhad since May 2005 and is The Store Corporation Berhad's retail arm in East Malaysia and a strategic foothold for future expansion.
Larut Matang Supermarket Holdings Berhad, which operates 14 “Fajar” supermarkets and departmental stores has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Store Corporation Berhad since October 2006. To facilitate central planning and control, in order to achieve greater management efficiency, the Group has carried out an internal organization and rebranding exercise with effect from 16 May 2007, to convert all 14 “Fajar” outlets operating under Fajar Retail Enterprise Sdn Bhd into outlets of The Store (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.
